Description

The module is designed to enable students to develop and demonstrate competent, critically reflective professional practice when working with children, their families and carers. It will draw on relevant legal guidance, statutory responsibilities, the Professional Capabilities Framework, Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS), and approaches to intervention where safeguarding children is at the fore. Professional practice will be developed in the context of risk, uncertainty, conflict and contradictions and with consideration of organisational and wider social settings.
